Seatac Sharks Lock Down #1 Seed In Grey Conference Junior Division With 19-6 Win Over CD Panthers

With wet and muddy field conditions, the Seatac Sharks junior team defeated the CD Panthers junior team 19-6 to claim the number 1 seed heading into this week’s playoffs. Both teams entered contest 7-0 and looking to lock down the top seed in the Grey Conference.

Seatac’s power running game was a problem that CD did not solved all game long. The Sharks’ running back duo of Leilani Savelio and Isendre “Poppa” Ahfua took turns gashing the Panthers’ defense with inside runs that kept the chains moving for the Sharks. Ahfua (two touchdowns) and Savelio (one touchdown) did all the scoring for the Sharks on the day. Kaleb Leatigaga led the charge defensively for Seatac.

CD’s lone score on the day came from John Rodgers on a 7-yard scamper in 2nd Qtr. The Panthers offense successfully moved the ball on Seatac but had problems finishing off drives for scores. Defensively, Panthers’ cornerback Ray Proctor-Mills, Jr. locked things down on his side of the field and defensive lineman Angelo Wilson had multiple tackles on the day.

These two teams could face off again in the conference championships game in two weeks if both teams get through round 1 of the playoffs.
