
King County Sheriff’s deputies are getting assistance from Seattle Police in responding to a shooting at Roxy’s Casino (26th/Roxbury). A gunman reportedly entered the casino and immediately opened fire. There was no exchange of words or forewarning. Three injured people were taken to Harborview Medical Center. A woman and two men were checked in for treatment.
The shooting erupted at around 11pm Saturday night at the Roxbury Lanes & Casino in southwest Seattle. The call was reports of multiple people shot. They arrived and saw three people in destress due to gunshot wounds. Police to the public that a search was underway for one gunman.
So far it is being reported that investigators are working to identify the gunman. No one has yet said what the motive was for the shooting. At one point, a local media source quoted SPD stating that KCSO has one suspect in custody. Local media sources were also monitoring comments that were made by people who said they were there when the shooting happened.
One online commenter claiming to be an eyewitness reported that three people were shot. An online post stated that one victim died at the scene. However, the latest reports are stating that the three people were in critical condition. These comments seemed to fill a void late into the night while people waited to here more about what was happening at the casino.
A resident named Breana Lewis, who lives close by, told KOMO News that she heard the gunshots. “They had like eight cops on my street. There were about 10 over here, like cop cars, and it was just a huge response. Medics were flying up and down this area.”
Finally, close to 8 the next morning KCSO Sgt. Eric White released the following statement:
“What we do know at this point is that around 2248 hours last night an unknown person came into Roxbury Lanes Casino located at the 2800 block of SW Roxbury Street in Unincorporated King County and began shooting. KCSO Deputies from White Center, Burien, Sea Tac, Metro and Sound Transit Divisions responded to the scene. As many as three victims were reported to have sustained injuries, and were transported to Harborview Hospital for their injuries. KCSO Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene. The suspect in this is still at large. This case is still an active and open investigation.”
