COMMISSIONER VACANCIES (2)The Washington State Commission on African American Affairs seeks to fill two commissioner vacancies. The commission serves to advise the Governor, the legislature, state and local agencies on policies and practices that affect the African American community of the state. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the Commission’s website at www.caa.wa.gov.Current Commissioners reside in Bremerton, Seattle, Spokane, Vancouver, and the Tri-Cities. All Commission members are gubernatorial appointees. Travel reimbursements are provided for Commission business. Terms are for unexpired appointments that are set to expire on November 20, 2005. Commissioners are expected to attend six meetings a year, typically held on Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings, which are held every other month throughout the state. Additionally, Commissioners are involved in substantive committee meetings and are expected to locally represent the Commission through involvement with the African American community.Those interested may apply by submitting a letter of interest, a resume and a Board application to: Commission on African American Affairs, P.O.
