The Cleveland Eagles took on Bishop Blanchet Braves at Memorial Stadium in a Metro League loser out playoff game.
The first quarter got off to a slow start with both teams struggling to find offensive footing. That was until a Cleveland punt left the Braves in excellent field position inside Cleveland’s red zone, ultimately resulting in a 1-yard touchdown run by senior running back Alex Oximana to give Blanchet the early lead 7-0.
Much more of the 1st half remained same to the theme as both teams struggled to find yards and add points on board, as the teams went into the half with the score remaining 7-0 in favor of Blanchet.
As the second half began, the flood gates of offense began to flow for the Braves as 5 different players player touched pay dirt, scoring 35 unanswered points to secure a 42-0 victory over the Eagles.
Bishop Blanchet senior wide receiver and defensive back Andrew Holloman had a huge game of the with 2 interceptions and 2 touchdowns – one of which was a 67-yard kickoff return that helped set the tempo of the second half.
