Panthers Claim 7U Championship With 12-7 Win Over Benson

By Airik Myers, The Seattle Medium

This 7U championship game was a good, and hard-fought defensive battle. Both teams were grinding and fighting for the right to be champions in this game. The Benson Bruins played host to the CD Panthers, but this time, a championship was on the line.

Benson started this game off strong. They had to work for it, but the methodical runs down field paid off. Silas Fuiava punched in the first touchdown of the game from 5 yards out. This looked like Benson was off to a great start, as they were ahead early in the campaign.

The Panthers were not discouraged though. Jamari Miller had a game breaker. He rushed for a huge 40-yard touchdown, that looked to get his team back in the game. But unfortunately, after a failed extra point attempt, CD was still behind 6 to 7.

After some great defense by both teams in the second quarter both teams went into the half feeling good about their performance.

The second half opened with some Panther dominance. CD marched down the field so carefully and calculated. And once again, Miller was the answer. He would find paydirt from 5 yards out, with a touchdown that would ultimately make them Champions!

The Panthers coaching staff stated that “hard work pays off. And when we do it, we do it together.”

Final Score: CD Panthers 12, Benson Bruins 7
