Bruins Claim 9U Title With A Dominant Performance

By Airik Myers, The Seattle Medium

In the 9U Championship, CD faced off with Benson in a heated battle. The game was poised to be a good one. But apparently no one told Benson that.

The Bruins came out firing on all cylinders. In the first quarter, CJ Vala and De’Shaun Brown, Jr. took over. They both had a touchdown, and Benson was up 13 after one.

The second quarter is where Benson really turned it on. Kaiden Peterson-Leonardo joined in with Vala and Brown in scoring in the 2nd quarter, and those touchdowns put them up 33 to nothing. The offensive line was doing outstanding, opening gaps in the defense left, right, and in the center.

The second half was more of the same. Brown scored another touchdown, and that started the running clock. This was his most impressive touchdown of the day. From 60yards out, Brown completely dismanteled the Panther defense on his way to paydirt. In the 4th quarter, Vala put another touchdown on the board and Jordan Stier got the last of the Bruins touchdown fest.

“I’m just grateful,” Benson’s Coach Chris said postgame. “We took it one game at a time and one week at a time. We put in some hard work.”

Final Score: Benson Bruins 55, CD Panthers 0
