Benson Claims 13U Title With Shutout Win Over CD

By Airik Myers, The Seattle Medium

Benson hosted CD in the final championship game of the year. The 13U championship featured many great players between the two teams, but only one side could leave as champions. Benson looked as determined as ever and CD looked like they had a chip on their shoulder, as these two teams kicked off under the lights.

After a defensive first quarter, the Bruins started cooking. The defense was dominate all day, but never more so than when Marques Meneese recovered a Panthers fumble and ran it back for a touchdown. Meneese and his brother, Micah, had a great day on both sides of the ball and were key factors in Benson’s win.

In fact, Marques Meneese would have ANOTHER fumble recovery in the second half that all but assured a Bruins victory. His brother Micah threw a swing pass to Kellon Hightower for a 10-yard touchdown, and that was the game.

The Bruins defense, led by Meneese and Giulio Banchero, held the Panthers scoreless.

Final Score: Benson Bruins 14, CD Panthers 0
