Adults in Seattle talk about how important it is to celebrate Black women during Women's History Month.

No question. Women of color particularly Black women are the cornerstone of humanity. So it is appreciate that they are honored as all women should be.

I think that the praise of Black women should be year-round! But since we have months in which we focus on specific groups due to the education system being centered around white males, I love that we can take Women’s History Month to focus on Black women and their achievements!

The Black woman are the mothers of the human race. Their role in history is undeniable. Women in general should be honored not for a day, a month but always. We forget that. I wouldn’t be if it weren’t for my mother. Wouldn’t exist.

I think it would be appropriate. There have been significant contributions to society by women of color and Black women have been instrumental. Life begins in all women so of course Black women should be included in this celebration.

Black women deserved to be honored, and it is so beautiful that Women’s History Month comes right after Black History Month! These are not the only times that we should be honoring Black women, obviously, but now more than ever we need to focus on them.

With being the foundation and the backbone of both the Black community and society as a whole, Black women should ALWAYS be the focus.
