Garrett Appointed To Washington State Liquor And Cannabis Board

OLYMPIA – Gov. Jay Inslee announced the appointment of Ollie A. Garrett to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board.

Garrett is president and CEO of PMT Solutions, a Bellevue-based collection company that provides comprehensive check collection and receivable management services for businesses.

“Ollie will bring extensive experience in business, community and nonprofit leadership to the Liquor and Cannabis Board,” Inslee said. “Her strong relationships with communities across Washington will help inform her decisions and enrich the board’s public safety mission.”

Garrett is currently serving her fourth term as president of Tabor 100, an association working to further economic power, educational excellence and social equity for African-Americans and the community at large. She is an at-large appointee of the King County Civil Rights Commission, co-chair of the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises and an appointed board member of the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board, the Employment Security Advisory Board and the Washington Economic Development Finance Authority. She is also a member of the Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club Advisory Board.

Garrett is the recipient of the 2014 Women of Valor Award from Senator Maria Cantwell, the 2012 recipient of the Woman of the Year award from the Bellevue Business Professional Women and the 2008 recipient of the Seattle Rotary’s Service Above Self award.

“Ollie will be a great addition to the board. Her extensive professional network and leadership experience will help us fulfill our mission to serve the public and prepare for the many considerations ahead,” said WSLCB Board Chair Jane Rushford.

The board is composed of three members appointed by the governor. Garrett joins Rushford and Ruthann Kurose and fills the open WSLCB board position vacated by Russ Hauge. The appointment is effective Aug. 15.
