Gas Prices Are Dropping

Some say that as elections in the U.S. near, gas prices always go down. That may seem logical as nearing a midterm election we are seeing crude prices drop. Gas prices dropped again in Seattle, Washington state, and nationally with the average price of gas in Seattle dropping another 7.9 cents per gallon in the past week.

There were a bright spot or two such as the M&M Mart in Marysville that cut their price of gas by 25 cents over the weekend to look out for Drivers. Drivers lined up and filled their tanks at a rate of $4.44 a gallon. However, after this deal drivers had to go back to the reality of higher gas prices.

The average gas price in the city is now $5.50, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 775 stations in Seattle. The prices are 16.7 cents cheaper than a month ago. The cheapest gas in Washington state on Sunday was $4.45 a gallon, while the most expensive was $6.29.

The entire country is feeling relief as the prices fall. Nationally, the average price of gas fell 12.8 cents per gallon in the past week, lowering the average to $4.66 a gallon. This is 34.4 cents less than a month ago. The national average price of diesel has declined 8.5 cents in the last week and stands at $5.65 per gallon.
