Geneva Willins, affectionately called Mother Willins or just Mother, was born June 25, 1917 in St. Louis, Missouri. She came to Seattle in 1942 with her husband who was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. She loves the Lord; she is faithful to God and a faithful friend to many.
She is called the Mother of the Gospel Quartets because she has been the Mother of several quartet groups in the Seattle area. When quartet music was introduced, she instantly fell in love with that style of music—clapping of the hands and patting of the feet to keep the rhythm of the beat. This style of music changed over the years but never Mother’s love for it.
Her passion for music began at the age of 14. She loves children and enjoyed teaching music and supervising young people’s choirs for many years. She sang with a 100-voice choir at 21 and sang with a choir on live radio. At 97, she still sings with her church Choir and is known for her lead in singing, Living Testimony.’ (Williams Brothers)
