Kent Cobras 20
Puget Sound Lancers 6

Cobras J’Isaiah Mitchell  had over 100 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. But the real story was how dominant the Cobra defense was. The Cobras created a turnover and had some very timely stops.

SWAC 52
Seattle Jr Seahawks 6

Definition of blowout, SWAC had the answer.  A balanced attack on both offense and defense as SWAC put forth an A-plus effort in this Peewee matchup. White Center put forth a valiant effort, the enthusiasm wasn’t there, as this week belonged to SWAC. Great job on both sides. Game contributors and big play makers for SWAC were Knowledge Wright, Haylee Sweet, Jordan Mcfarland and Wesley Armstrong, all finding the end zone.

Pac Highway edged out a win this week with an all around team effort, holding the Cowboys to just 6 points. As the low score indicates it was a defensive duel. You can tell each team was competing. But as games are designed only one can be on top and Pacific Highway were the victors.

SWAC 0

One might have thought before kickoff that this match up was against two teams heading in two different  directions. But once the ball was in the air it was obvious SWAC came to play by acquiring a fumble on the 2nd play of the game. After that SWAC’s drives ran dry as the Jr Seahawks seem to find an oasis in the desert. The Seahawks  explosive offense led by the nations leading 9U Quarterback Donovan “Bam” Gill, who connected with Jaylin Petty for a 40 yard  pass play. Two plays later, Bam drops back to pass and the pressure came, he ducked inside, giving two defenders his version of the “Seattle Shimmy” before scampering into the end zone for the games first score.

SWAC approached this game putting emphasis and focus on stopping the run by placing 10 players in the box. Although the Jr Seahawks continued to drive and score on a 60 yard touchdown  run by Sam Taylor, but was call back do to penalty

The game could have gone the other way if the Jr Seahawks didn’t beat themselves or as other eyes may have seen it the “phantom whistles” that halt potential scores and the Hawks had 2 of those. Finally in the 3rd quarter Bam connected with Mac McCall for a 45 yard TD pass for the final score.

JoJo Paaga had 58 yards rushing with an extra point and 9 tackes. Defensively was just as impressive. Messiah 9 tackles, Sefa Leapai 9 tackles and a sack, Jay Johnson dominated with 8 tackles and 4 sacks, outstanding! G’Anthony Nichols was a major contributor with 5 tackles and a TFL, Randy Brown, Litani Moimoi and Xavier Chueneliko had to get some too, each contributed 5 tackles. Nuff said.
