This Sat., Feb. 19, Erika Dunlap, Miss America 2004, will keynote Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s “Trajectory To Excellence” luncheon at the Seattle Sheraton. In addition to the keynote address by Ms. Dunlap, the organization will present awards will be given to 5 individuals – Phyllis M. Byrdwell, Emile Pitre, Dr. Zakiya Stewart, Craig Dawson, Trish Millines – and one group, The Sam Bruce Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc. for their outstanding contributions in our community. These individuals have been chosen for their excellence in the arts, education, international awareness and involvement, educational development, technology and political awareness. Entertainment will be provided by the world renowned award-winning Garfield Jazz Combo Band, under the direction of Mr. Clarence Acox. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is the largest African American sorority that was founded in 1913 at Howard University. The public service sorority proudly boasts over 100,000 members across the United States and abroad and there are over 800 chapters at the graduate and the undergraduate levels.
