Seattle Man Dies In King County Jail

An inmate in the custody of the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention died Sunday evening in the infirmary at the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle.

The staff found the 42-year-old man at about 7:30 p.m. during a routine security check. Seattle Fire and Medic 1 staff responded, but the inmate was still unresponsive. Medical staff pronounced him dead at 7:50 p.m.

The inmate, who lived in Seattle, was booked into the King County Correctional Facility on April 2 and charged two days later on a second-degree murder case.

The King County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct a review to determine the cause of death.
