The Seattle Medium Newspaper Group, in conjunction with the Z-Twins Radio Stations (1420 KRIZ & 1620 KYIZ), will host their annual food drive this Sat., Nov. 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Seattle Medium Bldg. at 2600 S. Jackson Street in Seattle.
Non-perishable food items will be accepted throughout the day and distributed to less-fortunate families in our community in time for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, Turkeys will also be accepted to help make sure that these families have a complete Thanksgiving meal on the table this holiday season.
“We know that some people in our community are facing some serious economic challenges right now and this is a time to embrace them and let them know that there is somebody out there who cares,” said Chris H. Bennett, chairman of the Seattle Medium and the Z-Twins radio stations. “You never know the effect that a kind gesture can have on someone and their family, and that’s why we are asking everyone, who is able, to contribute whatever they can to help those in our community who are in need this holiday season.
Chris B. Bennett, co-publisher/editor of The Seattle Medium agrees, and acknowledged that while the economy is reported to be much better than in previous years that there are those who were doing well a few year ago that may need help themselves this year.
“We know that there are people in our community who have supported our previous food drives who may need assistance themselves this year, and now it’s time for our community to support those in our community who have supported us continuously for so many years,” said Chris B. Bennett, co-publisher/editor of The Seattle Medium.
“We cannot allow one child, one family, or one adult to be without food this holiday season if we can help it,” Bennett continued. “So we are asking that people look deep in their heart and deep in their cupboards and support this worthy effort.”
Food collected during this year’s food drive will be distributed through The Seattle Medium/Z-Twins network of community partners.
