Seattle citizens will have an important voice in decisions about the Seattle Monorail Project (SMP). On Weds., Jul. 20 at 5:30 p.m. the Seattle Monorail Project’s Board of Directors will conduct a brainstorming session to hear ideas from citizens about how to address the Monorail’s current challenges. At the meeting, the Board will take action on a proposed Monorail Action Plan that lays out steps for determining the future of the Monorail Project. The brainstorming session, an opportunity for the public to put creative ideas on the table for the Board to consider, is expected to begin between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. Citizens are invited to share what they see as positive and negative aspects of any and all available options. The Board is interested in what citizens believe will or will not work when considering Monorail financing, design, timing, and other related issues. The Board will continue to hold weekly public meetings over the next six weeks to discuss the key issues in depth and determine next steps for the Project.
