SIFF Feature Note: Venus In Fur

Venus in Fur
Venus in Fur

The Seattle Medium

All the world’s a stage…Venus in Fur is a French film that fully embodies that statement. The entire film is an audition. Playwright and director, Thomas, is convinced to do a reading with an eccentric actress, Vanda. A relationship fraught with sexual tension builds through their interaction on and off script. Despite the static setting, the tug of war interplay is fascinating and, by the end, you are unsure who is running the show.

The Seattle International Film Festival continues through June 8.
