THE RACE IS ON…

IT IS TIME TO GET OUT THE VOTEThe Race is on campaign has completed the voter registration phase of the campaign; now it is time to we are Get Out The Vote. What does this mean? Starting the last week of October on October 26, 27, 28 we will conduct a phone bank at the Urban League building and call the people you have registered to vote to remind them to vote. We will also work in partnership with A. Philip Randolph to transport people to the polls and on Election Day we will need volunteers to help us wave signs at key intersections to remind people to vote.Absentee ballots will be mailed October 13-15. If you registered as an absentee voter, please start looking for your ballot. As soon as you receive it, complete it and return it. Election Day is November 2, we have less than a month to ensure that all citizens who are eligible to vote are using their power and voting. If you are interested in waving signs on Election Day or you are able to transport people to the polls, please contact Gayle Johnson, Voter Empowerment Coordinator NAACP at 206-721-1288.Thank you and remember VOTING IS YOUR RIGHT…USE IT!!Tony OrangePolitical Action ChairSeattle King County Branch NAACP
