ALBANY, Ga. Brown had 66 of his team’s 161 yards on the ground, including a 1-yard touchdown run in the second half, while Fabian Walker threw for 203 yards and a touchdown, including a 26-yard strike to Brown. Albany State’s Uyl Joyner threw for two touchdowns and Antonio Atkins ran for another, while Adrian Arango made a 20-yard field goal, to help give their team a 24-0 lead at the intermission. But it was all Valdosta State in the second half. Besides Brown’s two scores, Tyran Robinson rushed for two touchdowns for Valdosta State as part of the team’s 38-point flurry in the second half. Joyner finished the game 13-21 passing for 165 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Atkins led Albany State in rushing, with 74 of his team’s 181 yards. The loss by Albany State (11-1) snapped its 19-game winning streak and also proved to be revenge for Valdosta State (12-1), which lost to Albany State, 24-22, in the season opener.
