Benson Bruins 26, Heir (9U) 6
Nationally ranked and holding the number one seed in the Northwest Premier Junior Football League’s (NWPJFL) 10U division, the Benson Bruins have remained in control of all of their games this season. But they faced one last obstacle to a perfect season and that was a matchup against an Heir 9U team that mounted a comeback win last week against Benson’s 9U team to earn a spot in the championship game.
On the defensive end, Benson had allowed only one touchdown all season and with that they followed suit by only allowing Heir to score only once in the game.
Benson quarterback CJ Vala was named the game’s most valuable player, as he led the Bruins to a 20-point victory over Heir. With the win, this group of Benson players, who have been playing together for a number or years now, claimed their fourth championship in a row.
