WASHINGTON (AP) – Kraft Foods Inc. has recalled 15,810 packages of Oscar Mayer Lunchables because of mislabeling, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The ready-to-eat meals were labeled as including Dijon mustard. Instead, the package contains herb sauce with egg yolk, a known allergen, according to the Agriculture Department, which announced the recall last Thursday. The product being recalled is 5.1 oz packages of “Oscar Mayer Lunchables Deluxe Turkey, Ham and Cheddar Cheeses, Andes Mint, with Dijon Mustard.” Each package bears the use by date and establishment number “09 DEC 2004 EB Est. P-2310” and is stamped with the packaging code “00 44700 02464.” The packages were produced on Sept. 10, 2004, and were sent to retail establishments in California, Oregon, Utah and Washington, according to the Agriculture Department. The problem was discovered by consumers, who notified Northfield, Ill.-based Kraft, according to the department. The USDA said it has received no reports of allergic reactions from consumption of the product.
