“There is always a bit of a concern. But we, the African American has always dealt with law enforcement. That if nothing else has been a consistent reality for us as a people. Militarizing it though puts this on a whole other level. By law that is unconstitutional, but as we have discovered, Trump does care about the constitution.”

“I am concerned because I feel like this country has consistently used the state policing and militarized forces to enact violence against us and our people, and the state of where we’re at right now is just increasing our lack of safety, it’s increasing our danger. We’re having to face it daily, and that has a holistic impact on our psyche, our wellbeing, and our ability just carry out our everyday life in this country.”

“Intent. I would say that my concern with the federal government coming in, again, is the intent based off of what their goals are and how they are going to impose those in correlation to our civil rights.”

“I am concerned about the government militarizing or coming into cities with the army, with the National Guard, because I know that their target or I feel that their target is people of color. We already have a problem with the Seattle police, so the military is like an extra added oppression and whatnot. So, yes, most definitely concerned.”

“Yes, I’m absolutely concerned because history repeats itself, and this has been done before. No matter what your views are, this has been done before. I’m very concerned about it, because it could happen to anybody. Me, you, our children, others we love. No, nobody’s immune from it. So, when they come, yeah, I’m very concerned about it.”

“And my response is, I would say, yes, I’m concerned because we don’t know what they’re doing. So, you know what I’m saying? I would like to know what they’re doing. As long as I know what they’re doing, but until then, nah. No.”
