Angel Mitchell…
“I do not think that non Blacks can understand the struggle that Black people go through. I think because of the fact that do not face the discrimination that people of color face based on the complexion of their skin. People judge us based on the color of our skin and we have been given a stigma that we are dangerous, unruly, ignorant and anything else of that sort. So, I do not believe that people can understand how Black people are discriminated against.”
Karvin Alexander…
“There’s no way possible for non-blacks to be able to understand what it means to be black in America. Because, they already hold all the advantages that we’ll never get or that we’re trying to get and until they experience that, they will never understand it.”
Edvent Grinnell…
“That is completely impossible, they’ll never know how it can be, because Blacks in this country are still not consider to be people, the government still considers us slaves to be honest.”
Empress Modupe Olufunmi…
“I really think that non-Black person or person who is not of African descent could never understand what it is to Black in the United States. First of all, our experiences are totally different from any other racial group in the United States, an exception the Native American, in term o the Muaafa which is the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. Most of the African descendants that are here are descendants of people that were captured, kidnapped from their homeland and brought here. So that in itself, that tragedy in itself, makes it almost impossible for someone who is of non African descent to be able to understand what we went through. Maybe some might be able to empathize, but at the same time I think it would be quite difficult for them to understand.”
Sydney Daisy…
“My answer is no, because without you actually having the skin color when you walk out to go to work or school or whatever occupation you have, you don’t actually know what it feels like to be Black or person of color, you don’t have the skin color, you don’t have the same issues, people perceive you as a person of color they don’t treat you the same, they just won’t treat you the same as if you were a non-Black person.”
Alexander Toe…
Every Black person has different ways of actually getting what they want all depending on their situation. Like I said it depends on the situation that your trying to know. I don’t think Black or yellow or white matters, it all depends on being in the know, that’s all that matters.”
