“It always has been relevant, it has never gone anywhere. We are in the great 21st century now, a brave new world so, there are all of these accesses the internet, twitter this and that so there is more attention on it. But, it hasn’t gone anywhere and we don’t want to be bamboozled thinking that this is a new found glory now. This stuff has been going on since the signing of the Declaration, hasn’t left but, we keep fighting the good fight.”

“Yes racism does affect our politics today because without it I feel like a lot more things would be fair, like there would be a lot more Black people in political office, color people period in office, so, yes I believe racism plays a major role in today’s politics.”

“I’m a local, grew up in the South Seattle community also lived in the Central District, Yesler Terrace neighborhood. My answer to this question yes, I would say racism still influences and is relevant in today’s politics and looking at the president we have in office today, you can see the action he’s carrying out , the hatred that he is spewing and how that is impacting populations, vulnerable population, people of color all over. Racism has been evolving over time and is something that needs to change. It is sad to say its 2019 and ignorance is still alive.”
Kevin Richardson…
“As long as we are kept down as Black men, women and our children and politically held down there is no way, shape or form Black people can be politically entitled to the resources available out there. So, I think as long as we are politically and racially held in this predicament we will never prosper.”
Suprina Ford…
“I do believe racism is affecting our politics. I was just taking about this and being pro Black, I am a business owner and I was talking how I notice the African American community wants to support one another but doesn’t, then when I opened up my business in a predominately White area, once they saw that I was African American, I’m finding them walking out of the store because they weren’t expecting it to be owned by a Black person. So with Trump and all that’s taking place right now, I believe he has a large influence because a lot of what’s made up in the political arena is based on the White culture, I believe racism has a lot of influence.”

“I feel like if Obama was our president now and he was doing the stuff Trump is doing, he would be out of office by now. And yes, racism has a huge affect on what we experience today.”
