Benson 36, B12 0
Benson traveled to Camas, WA. to face the Bearcats and were led by quarterback Thomas Marshall. Benson’s defense suffocated B12’s offense and held them to scoreless and minimum yardage. The Bruins will now turn their attention to a very motivated Parkland Raiders team.
HEIR 13U 34, 14U Parkland 34
This ‘game of the week’ did not disappoint! HEIR 13U has dominated their age group for years with blowout victories so this game they decided to sit all of their coaches in the stands the entire game and let the kids coach themselves to make it more entertaining. Parkland 14u came with a chip on their shoulder. The game was back & forth all night. Parkland struck first with a 10 yard touchdown run from quarterback Jadis Lefono. HEIR quarterback Cordae Norling drove the team 70 yards down the field and finished with a touchdown pass to Derrick Deloney. Parkland answered back with a 20-yard Touchdown throw from Jadis. Taking the game to halftime with Parkland leading 12-8.HEIR started with the ball. Damariae Barrington took the kickoff down to the 10 yard line and Cordae Norling found Justin Suega in the endzone for a touchdown pass. Parkland fired back with Jadis scrambling around to find Sosaia Sekona for a 40 yard touchdown. This was a true back & forth game. The final minute of the game Parkland had the ball with the lead 26-20. HEIR’s Linebacker Amhire Rooters-Hart broke free and sacked the quarterback forcing a fumble, that he also picked up in the endzone for a HEIR touchdown. Which brought the score to 26-26 and sent the game into overtime. As HEIR got the ball first, Cordae (still calling his own plays) dialed up a touchdown on the first play to Justin Suega. Parkland answered back with a touchdown of their own with Jadis on a 1-yard quarterback sneak.
