There’s still time for Washington State residents to save on appliance upgrades, but rebates will only be available until funds run out OLYMPIA – The clock is ticking on Washington’s highly successful Cash for Appliances program. With less than 20% of the program’s funding still available, the time to act is now. So far, Cash for AppliancesWashington has helped more than 30,000 people upgrade to a new, energy-efficient ENERGY STAR(r) appliance, while offering over $4 million in rebates. The program can only continue until the funds are gone and that mark is quickly approaching. Funds cannot be reserved. Only completed applications will be processed.Applications with missing or incomplete information will be returned.Washington residents are encouraged to resubmit their completed applications before funds run out. “The federal investment in Cash for Appliances has already generated over $30 million in retail appliance sales and supported business activities for heating and plumbing contractors throughout Washington,” said Rogers Weed, director of the Washington State Department of Commerce. “In addition to providing needed local economic stimulus, more than 30,000 consumers who have so far claimed rebates through this program are benefiting from energy savings.” By upgrading from older, inefficient appliances to new ENERGY STAR(r) models, consumers can lower their monthly energy bills while also reducing consumption. These savings really add up over time. Cash for Appliances Washington offers cash rebates on ENERGY STAR(r refrigerators, clothes washers, dishwashers, water heaters, and ductless heat pumps. In most cases, consumers can receive additional incentives from their Washington gas or electric utility. But these rebates won’t last forever, so it’s important to act fast before the funding is all used up. All Washington State residents are eligible for the program.
