For the first time in three years, the Washington state 3A boys basketball championship game will not feature an all-Metro League matchup. Rainier Beach (#1 seed) and Eastside Catholic (#9 seed) will face each other in a loser-out game, with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals.

All five Metro League girls basketball teams that advanced from last week’s District 2 tournament remain in contention for the WIAA 3A state championship and will compete next week at the Tacoma Dome.
