City Of Tacoma Cancels Community Trauma Response Team Contract

The City of Tacoma has notified Tacoma Pierce County Chaplaincy that the contract to provide the City’s Community Trauma Response Team Program will be terminated as of June 29, 2021.

According to officials, the terms of the contract require 10 business days of notice for contract termination.

“We support the decision by the City to terminate the contract for the Community Trauma Response Team with Tacoma Pierce County Chaplaincy after we heard from the community that the immediate conversation and need for the community has changed rapidly,” said Krystle Edwards, chair of the Community Trauma Response Team committee for CPAC. “We remain committed to working with the community and City staff to find a solution that provides the community the support it needs and work to rebuild stronger community relationships.”

At this time, CPAC will begin assessing next steps for the Community Trauma Response Team to determine how to proceed with a service that represents and meets the needs of the community.
