Should The City Of Seattle Require More Parking For New Residential Developments?

Thad…
“With all this construction I do believe the city should do something to lighten burden of parking. With all these large subsidized housing there just isn’t enough parking at least on the streets. Maybe within the structure of the building underground parking can be provided but I think the city should do something to improve parking in general.”

Kevin…
“My opinion is that Seattle needs to deal with parking issues, parking  is overpriced and with the building of these multi-living structures, those structures should provide parking within the structure. They can do lower parking or rooftop parking, but they should subsidize or even provide parking for these complexes.  As well as with the rising cost of parking that money should go toward improving parking around the city.”

Gerald…
“I think they should considering how much money is raised from parking, how much money is raised from tickets from parking, the people are paying so the city should allocate that to improve parking for the expansion that is going on”.

Mohammid…
“Does it really matter? The government if it can tries to cut cost as much as possible, so I don’t see them doing much to improve parking. It’s about raising money whether through higher taxes or higher prices on such things as parking. There are not too many places you go in the city were parking is free anymore, particularly in residential neighborhoods now. They have taken over streets were parking was free for residence. So I don’t see them do much for new residential complexes”

J….
“The rising cost of parking around the city that money should be allocated towards improving parking. Now I don’t know if private development is responsible for providing parking at the expense of its tenants, but if the housing development is subsidized by the government then yes the city should be responsible for providing parking at a reasonable rate.”

Miss Collins…
“I don’t know I don’t get into town that often to be affected by what the city of Seattle does with its citizen and making life more affordable and convenient. But I believe they should do all they can to improve the lifestyle of citizens, isn’t that the role of government?”
