Families and neighbors from across the Northwest are invited to gather at Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park on Saturday, Aug. 30, for Jesus N the Park, a new community event combining music, prayer, and celebration. The free festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and promises a day of encouragement, fellowship, and family fun.
Organizers say the first annual Jesus N the Park was created in response to growing concerns about student mental health in schools nationwide. By offering prayer, uplifting messages, and a supportive atmosphere, the event aims to provide hope and connection as families prepare for a new school year.
“This is about lifting up our community — parents, students, educators, and neighbors — with joy, encouragement and faith,” organizers said in a statement.
The celebration will feature live performances by Grammy Award-winning musicians, testimonies, inspirational speakers, and community prayers. Families will also enjoy free food, backpack and school supply giveaways while supplies last, and a chance to come together in fellowship.
Community leaders describe Jesus N the Park as a milestone for Tacoma and Washington state, designed to unite people of all ages through faith, music, and service.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and spend the day enjoying the park’s scenic views alongside music, food, and prayer. Admission is free, but advance registration is available at EventBrite.com.
Jesus N the Park will be held at 5361 Yacht Club Road, Dune Peninsula, Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.
