Construction Begins At Jimi Hendrix Park

Jimi Hendrix Park
Jimi Hendrix Park

Seattle Parks and Recreation (Seattle Parks) recently announced that construction of the Jimi Hendrix Park is underway. Seattle Parks contracted with ERRG, Inc. to transform Jimi Hendrix Park in Seattle’s Central District into a celebratory space worthy of its namesake, hometown rock icon Jimi Hendrix. The 2.5-acre green space, located adjacent to the Northwest African American Museum, will come to life throughout the summer and is scheduled to be complete by the end of September 2015.

The contractor will begin work by installing the underground utilities and the connection to the city sewer line. Next they will start the demolition work, move to the rough grading of the site, and then move on to the more visible built improvements. This project will complete phase one of the work.
