I believe if Martin Luther King, Jr. were alive today he would continue to fight for the inclusiveness of all people and the humanity of all people and that we stand on the ministry of Christ and how he cared for people and using that as a vehicle to build everyone up economically, emotionally and mentally.
I think he would be fighting for the same exact things he was fighting for at the time of his death. When he went down to Memphis to fight for workers rights and it wasn’t that he was specifically fighting for Black rights when they started to take notice, but when he started focusing on that money and started talking about economically empowering our community, that’s when the issues really got big for him and I think that’s what led to his demise. You look at economic trajectory from then until now, we aren’t doing any better today as a community then we were then. So I think he would still be putting that fight out there encouraging Black people to be a participant in our own process to making our community better.

I believe Martin Luther King, Jr. would be fighting for community. I think he would be disappointed in how we are treating our family members, our community members, people within the country, people outside of our country. I definitely believe he would be rallying to bring us more together and more of a cohesive, global community.

If Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were alive today in 2019 I think he would still be fighting for the rights of our young people. The rights for them to have a true education as well as Black Lives Matter. I believe he would say All Lives Matter, but I firmly believe he would be fighting for that today.

I believe if Martin Luther King, Jr. were alive today, he would be fighting against the wealth gap, he would be fighting against gerrymandering, he would be fighting against gentrification and many of the things that alienated him against the Black community and those people in power at the time and made him a target. But it’s stilling going on, there are still very powerful forces in our community and their having significant affects on our so called American dream today especially for our community.

Martin Luther King would be fighting for immigrants in what is happening to them today. I don’t speak for him or his family but I do believe that he would definitely be against this government shutdown and getting people to work, because that was one of the last things he was doing when he was assassinated was trying to get people work and be treated fairly. I don’t think he would appreciate this idea of putting up a wall around our country trying to keep people out and keeping people seeking asylum. I don’t think he would be for any of that sort of thing.
I think Martin Luther King if he were alive today would be fighting Black on Black crime. In this time it is terrible. That’s all I have to say. That’s it.
