Seatac Juniors Win Defensive Battle Against Benson
The Seatac Sharks junior team continued their winning streak by defeating the Benson Bruins 13-0 this past weekend.
In this defensive of battle neither team got much going in the first half. Both defenses were stingy rarely giving up first downs. Benson linebacker Xavier Agasid and defensive lineman Fa’afetai Laulu spent much of the first half causing havoc in the Sharks back field.
In the third quarter, Seatac was finally able to get some offense going with big runs by running back Isendre Ahfua. But the drive resulted in a lost fumble on the Bruins’ 10-yard line. With their backs against the goal line Benson running back Jeremiah Burroughs delivered two of his best runs on the day giving Benson some breathing room but the Sharks defense stepped and up made some big stops to shut down Benson’s momentum.
With these teams playing to a stalemate late in the third quarter, Seatac quarterback Edrie Caminong got loose on a keeper for a 12-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt by Ahfua was good and gave Seatac a 7-0 lead. After a good kickoff return by Benson, Seatac’s defense came up big by forcing Benson to turn the ball over on downs. Seatac’s Caminong scored his second touchdown of the day in the late minutes of the fourth quarter to preserve the win for Seatac.
5 Star Takes Sole Possession Of First Place In Green Conference With Win Over Beacon Hill
In a battle for the top spot in the Green Conference, 5 Star defeated Beacon Hill 18-6. Jason Brown got 5 Star on the board early with 59-yard touchdown catch from quarterback DeShaun Presley. Presley also found receivers Silas Robinson and Kristian Norris for scores in the first half.
The Cowboys were led by quarterback Marshawn Hillard. Hillard did his best to grind out tough yard against a stingy 5 Star defense. Running back Keenan Sir Hart got the lone score for the Cowboys on the day with a 9-yard plunge up the middle. Christopher Wilson led the Cowboys defense with multiple tackles on the day.
