A double shooting near Alki Beach in West Seattle has left one person dead and another injured. Patrol officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the 1000 block of Harbor Avenue Southwest at 3:51 a.m. The swift response from law enforcement and emergency services was unfortunately unable to prevent the tragic outcome.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man in the road suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of the Seattle Fire Department, who arrived shortly after, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased individual has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities are currently searching for multiple suspects in connection with the shooting. The violent incident claimed the life of one man and left another injured. The injured victim was found in Renton with a gunshot wound and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. Fortunately, no one inside a nearby residence, which was struck by gunfire, was harmed.
Seattle Police have not yet located the suspects involved in the shooting. Investigations are ongoing, and law enforcement is working diligently to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
Residents in the vicinity of the incident have expressed concerns regarding ongoing issues with street racing in the area. They believe that the crime and shootings are a direct result of this dangerous activity. Calls for change, including the installation of speed cameras and adjustments to parking arrangements to deter street racers, have grown louder among the community.
The crime scene was cordoned off until homicide and crime scene investigation detectives arrived to gather evidence and process the area.
