Judge Anita Crawford-Willis To Kicks Off Campaign

The Committee to Retain Judge Crawford-Willis will host a campaign kickoff for Judge Anita Crawford-Willis next Tues., Apr. 17 at the Northwest African American Museum – 2300 S. Massachusetts Street in Seattle.

Judge Crawford-Willis, who is running for Seattle Municipal Court position 4, was appointed to a seat on the Seattle Municipal Court bench in 2017 after nearly 30 years in public service as a Public Defender, Judge Pro Tem, and Administrative Law Judge. Since taking the bench, Judge Crawford-Willis has been deeply involved in ensuring equal access to justice and expanding the Seattle Municipal Court’s Resource Center to provide community services to those who need it most. A former member of the Washington State Access to Justice Board, she currently serves on the State Supreme Court Gender and Justice Commission.

The event will be opened by Verónica Quiñónez, the President of the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington, and feature speeches from the Hon. Bobbe Bridge, a retired Washington State Supreme Court Justice, and Prof. John McKay, Partner at Davis Wright Tremaine and former U.S. Attorney. It will also feature performances from a dancer, a singer, and a traditional African drummer. Food will be provided by Chef Jemil of Jemil’s Big Easy.

Judge Crawford-Willis has received the endorsement of all 9 members of the Washington State Supreme Court, nearly 70 locally elected judges, and dozens of community leaders.
