Kent Councilmember Bill Boyce Elected To Serve As Chair Of The Sound Cities Association Public Issues Committee

Kent Councilmember Bill Boyce

Kent Councilmember Bill Boyce was recently elected to serve as chair of the Sound Cities Association (SCA) Public Issues Committee (PIC) for 2022.

SCA helps King County cities act locally and partner regionally to create vital and thriving communities through advocacy, education, leadership, mutual support, and networking. The PIC is the policy-setting body for SCA and is comprised of a representative from each of SCA’s 38 member cities. As chair of the PIC, Bill Boyce will also serve on the Board of Directors of SCA.

Renton City Councilmember Ed Prince, former president of SCA, applauded Boyce’s election as PIC chair.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Bill in my role President of SCA and in my previous role as chair of PIC. Bill has the respect of leaders across the region and will do a phenomenal job as the chair of PIC,” said Prince.

He served on the Kent School District Board of Directors for 16 years, he is a charter member and past president of the Kent Sunrise Rotary Club and he served as a commissioner of the Criminal Justice Training Center for 13 years. Boyce has been at Boeing for 33 years and is currently serving as a human resources leader.

“I am thrilled to see Councilmember Boyce take on this leadership role at SCA,” said Kent Mayor Dana Ralph. “As Past President of SCA, I have seen firsthand how impactful the organization can be for the City of Kent. Having Bill as chair of PIC will ensure that Kent’s voice is heard in the region. The fact that Councilmember Boyce was unanimously elected by his peers to this important role demonstrates that Bill is a proven leader, and a dedicated public servant who will work hard for all cities in the region.”
