Bishop Blanchet 40, Ballard 34
In an absolute shootout, Blanchet was able to outlast Ballard 40-34 as they advanced to the round of 32 in the WIAA State 3A playoffs. Blanchet sophomore quarterback Cole Allegro completed 17 of 23 passes for 265 yards and five touchdowns, while junior running back Sam Merriman had 31 carried for 98 yards and a touchdown to lead the Bears. Blanchet receiver Will Summers also had a great game, catching 6 passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns; while teammate JJ Kane had 4 receptions for 78 yards.
Defensively, Blanchet was led by Graham Knowles who finished the game with 12 tackles, and Michael Martin who finished the game with seven tackles, including two sacks.
Ballard sophomore quarterback Truitt Madonna completed 20 of 37 passes for 438 yards and five touchdowns. His favorite receiver on the night was Dominic Hayes, who had nine receptions for 194 and five touchdowns. Receiver Alexander Good finished the game with four receptions for 125 yards for the Beavers.
