
Mount Zion Baptist Church will host a workshop in celebration of the 83rd Anniversary of the Women’s Ministry on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Attendees are encouraged to dress casually, bring their Bible, and silence their cell phones for a morning focused on singing, reflection, and faith-centered discussions.
A hosted continental breakfast will be provided, along with wellness resources from NCNW Good Health Wins, the Center for Multicultural Health, and the Washington State Department of Health.
The keynote speaker, Rev. Mary Bogan of Damascus International Fellowship Baptist Church, will speak on the topic “Stirring Up the Gifts”, in alignment with this year’s theme, “Unlock Your Potential.” The event will also feature Rotating Sister Circles, addressing mental, physical, and spiritual well-being, led by speakers including Rev. Shirley Lytle, Dr. Phyllis D. Gearring-Anderson, Dr. Jior Cameron, Dr. Sheri Buckley, Mattie Taplin, Michelle Curry, Jharman Lightner (Doctoral Candidate, PhD), and Dr. Georgia McDade, who will also discuss journaling as part of Mount Zion’s Sunday School program.
Spiritual Praise Circle Rotations will provide an opportunity for attendees to meet new people and participate in shared discussions. Rev. Dr. Julie Vaughn, M.Div, MACE, MA, DBe, BCC, serves as President of the Women’s Ministry, with Workshop Chair and Moderator Winona Hollins Hauge, MSW, LICSW. The 83rd Anniversary Celebration Co-Chairs are Colleen Robinson Walls and Rhonda Staton.
Additional events hosted by the Women’s Ministry include the Marketplace on March 1st, Intergenerational Prayer on March 20th, and a Worship Service and Reception on March 23rd. The workshop will take place at Mount Zion Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 1634 Rev. Dr. S. McKinney Avenue (19th & E. Madison St.), Seattle, WA 98122.
