Seattle police said officers responded to a restaurant located on Rainier Avenue South. Responding officers found a 60 year old man with life-threatening injuries. He was shot in the chest. The man who was not immediately identified later died from his injuries. Three people were reportedly involved in the deadly incident. Police have not released any suspect descriptions or said if anyone has been arrested for the shooting.
That was only the beginning. Four others were injured in three separate shootings in Seattle. According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), a man was shot and had a “minor gunshot wound to his head” in the New Holly neighborhood. In addition, three men in their late 20s were shot in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood just after midnight Sunday. Police are tight lipped. They have not said if anyone has been arrested in connection to any of the shootings.
The man that was man killed died during an attempted robbery inside Rainier Teriyaki in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood. Then, just after 7 p.m. Saturday, police “responded to a report of a damaged transformer but instead locate a man with a minor gunshot wound to his head” on the 3900 block of South Warsaw Street, SPD said.
There was strange chain of events. The man was in his vehicle when several shots were fired from another vehicle driving in the area, SPD said. The victim drove off and crashed into a power pole, causing a momentary power outage in the area, police added. No suspects were found, the SPD said, but an SUV possibly involved was last seen driving east on South Warsaw Street. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center, SPD said, and Seattle City Light crews responded to the power outage.
As for the three men. They are in their late 20s. They were shot just after midnight on Saturday on the 900 block of East Pike Street in First Hill, according to the SPD. Seattle police said the three men had gunshot wounds to their “lower bodies.” Responding officers provided the men with medical aid until Seattle Fire Department crews arrived and took the men to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
All seem to have come up empty. Responding officers were unable to find any suspects, however, Seattle police said, “witnesses reported seeing a tan or beige sport utility vehicle in the area at the time of the shooting.” Officers recovered spent shell casings and found bullet hole damage to businesses and vehicles in the area.
