Seatac Sharks 22
CD Panthers 14
Both of these teams came into the game with explosive offenses and stout, gritty defenses. The Sharks came out hungry in the first quarter and got off to an early 12-0 lead from a rushing touchdown by Fasi Fola and a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Isendre “Papa” Ahfua. The first half ended with some great possessions by both teams, but ultimately the teams went into halftime 12-0.
Opening the second half, the Panthers came out with a different energy about them. They came out and drove down the field and capped off a big scoring drive with a 12-yard touchdown run, and with the extra point the score was 12-7.
Apparently the Sharks wanted a shutout because they stepped up their defensive intensity and caused a Panthers’ safety, followed by another touchdown run by Ahfua. That score and the extra point put the Sharks ahead 22-7 nearing the end of this semi final bout. In one last effort to close the gap, CD scored late to bring the game to a close.
