West Seattle Bengals 13, Seatac Sharks 6
Some might say that the Bengals came into this game under-sized. But who can measure the heart? West Seattle’s Sam Turner had himself a game, running for a 1st half touchdown and then sealing the game with a second half 25-yard touchdown pass to teammate Pierre Murphy. The two also had big games on defense along with teammate Terrell Cain, who also ran for the lone extra point of the game. Running back Avian McClemore had to switch positions from running back to center due to an injury to the starter and played an outstanding game. Seatac kept it close all game but came up short in this match up.
CD Panthers 40, Rainier Ravens 0
The CD Panthers 10u team started its season with a bang! They played the Rainier Ravens and came away with a 40-0 win. Both teams came ready to battle. The Panthers were dynamic on both the offensive and defensive sides. Offensively, Kaden Powers led his team by throwing well and connecting with his receivers and running backs. Powers had two rushing touchdowns and three passing touchdowns on the day. On the first drive, the Panthers recovered a fumble and scored on a beautiful pass from Powers to Joey Thomas, III. In the second half, Powers connected with Oteko Mwamba on a beautiful long run. Keelan “The Tank” Thomas scored all but one of the Panthers extra points. Thomas and Mwamba both scored two touchdowns on the day, while teammate Zavion Watkins scored a touchdown of his own.
On defense, the Panthers tackled well and hard. The Ravens did not get a first down in the game. Their character as fighters and good sportsmen came through in their active engagement through the final whistle.
Benson 35, Lakewood 0
The 10U Bruins were dominant on both sides of the ball in their 35-0 shutout of Lakewood. The offense had a great rhythm for the duration of the game, and their defense was rock solid, giving up very view yards.
Auburn Panthers 12, Beacon Hill Cowboys 0
This was a disappointing loss for the Cowboys, as Auburn appeared to be a little bit more prepared for this game but the Cowboys played hard. Several turnovers and penalties played a big part in stopping some of the Cowboys drives on offense along with good defense by Auburn. The Cowboy defense played well. Auburn’s offense scored on two short field drives, with one starting from the Cowboys’ 5-yard line. Besides that the defense had an all around good game.
