NW Premier Junior Football 2017 Sophomore Division Playoffs Round 1 Scores & Highlights

CD Panthers 20
Benson Bruins 0

The Bruins gave CD all they could handle in the first half, as the teams battled to a scoreless first half. However, in the second half, the CD’s Reylen “Road Runner” Witherspoon scored two touchdowns, while teammate Kaden Powers connected with Joey Thomas on a 13-yard pass play as the Panthers rattled off 20 unanswered points to secure the victory. KJ Hightower and Keenan Thomas converted extra points with the Panthers.

Auburn Panthers 15
Seatac Sharks 7

Seatac’s EJ Saleaumua scored the only first half touchdown and Fa Siale converted on the extra point attempt as the Sharks took a 7-2 lead into the half. Auburn reeled off 13 unanswered second half points to take the victory in this highly contested playoff game. Seatac’s Fa Siale led the defense with 9 tackles and Anthony Solirio had a first half interception for the Sharks. Seatac’s Ron Jones, Tyrone “BoyBoy” Jones and Ramon Jones, Jr. all had good gains on the day. Despite the loss, the future looks bright for the Sharks of Seatac.

Puget Sound Lancers 26
Beacon Hill Cowboys 0

The Lancers came out scoring on the first kickoff of the game to take the early lead. A turnover by the Cowboys gave the ball back to the Lancers and they took advantage with a second score. After that, Beacon Hill regained focus and played much better. The Cowboys’ defense played tough but their offense just couldn’t keep up. Beacon Hill’s Enoch Berry had some great runs along with Keivon Porter and Miguel Aguilar but mistakes cost them a lot of those yards. Despite the loss, Cowboys head coach Darryl Gant said he was “proud of my Boyz.”
