The second game of the second round matchups pitted the CD Panthers against the 253 Spartans. The scoring opened up with a bang as the Panthers’ Lonzell Hall broke free for a huge 40-yard touchdown. But the Spartans fired back late in the 4th quarter and answered with a short yardage score to even up the game at 6. When it looked like the game might go into overtime, the Panthers’ De’Vion Frazier got the call and ended it with a 45-yard score to seal the victory. Final Score: CD Panthers 12, 253 Spartans 6.
Benson Bruins 28
Auburn Panthers 0
Benson opened up the floodgates early as Will Conroy, Jr. scored on a 58-yard touchdown run as the Bruins took an early 7-0 lead.
Benson’s Kamari Webb recovered a fumble and returned it 23 yards for a touchdown to take a 14-0 lead after a successful extra point attempt.
Benson’s Dash Jones recorded an interception at the Bruin 31 yardline with 3:31 left in the first quarter, that led to a 5-yard touchdown run by Sosaia Sekona. Sekona converted the PAT to take a 21-0 lead with 2:13 left in the first quarter.
Benson recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff at the 49 yardline. and a long run by Jones setup a one-yard touchdown run by Sekons as Benson increased their lead to 28-0.
Cordae Norling threw at 32-yard touchdown pass, and Conroy ran for a 35-yard touchdown as Benson went into the half leading 41-0.
Kaiden Peterson-Loenardo Bruins scored a touchdown as time expired in third to give the Bruins a 48 – 0 lead.
Dash Jones put an exclamation point on the game with a 3-yard touchdown run with just over one minute left in the game to give Benson a 54-0 win.
