Ella Mae Kirby Pitre was born in Prescott, Arkansas. In 1992, Pitre was in the first group of inductees to the Franklin High School Hall of Fame.  The Alumni Association and Foundation “considered her the matriarch of Franklin High School during her 30 years as a staff member. In her role as attendance secretary, she interacted with the thousands of students who came to adore her, and she did not stop when the school day ended.  She was a member of the PTA and was seen at many of Franklin’s sporting events”.

Pitre was an advocate and tireless volunteer for the community.  She was an active member of her parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  She was a member of the first ever parish council at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  She volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank.  She was a longtime member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  She was a charter member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court 218. She was a charter member of the Ladies of Grace Our Mother of Africa Chapter 38.  She was an associate member of the Sisters of Providence.

An angel of the city of Seattle, Pitre was a caring, giving, and strong woman.  If you knew Ella Pitre, you knew she could strike up a conversation with just about anyone.  She made everyone she encountered feel special.  She was a second mother to many people because she always went the extra mile.  She brought an abundance of hope, love, and faith to this world.  Her hobbies were fishing, gardening, sewing, and crocheting.  As a beacon of the community she will be truly missed.
