Obituary – Missionary Minnie Norwood

Minnie Norwood

Missionary Minnie Norwood passed on October 30, 2019 at Lake Ridge Nursing Home in Moses Lake, Washington. Her was to have a quick Grave Side Service to ease the sadness for her family was honored and she was laid to rest in Pioneer Cemetery in Moses Lake on Nov. 1.

Mother Norwood as she was called by members of her church in Moses Lake, was born in Quitman, MS on the Atterberry Settlement. Before moving to Moses Lake, Norwood lived in Seattle and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lena Thompson, her father, William Combest, her Grand Daughter Zena Eltayeb – Swindle and son-in-law, Abdel Rahim Mohamed Eltayeb.

Missionary Norwood leaves to cherish her memory her only child, Mary Amu Lena Elizabeth Rhodes Eltayeb Givens; son-in-law, Leon Boyetta Givens; grandson, Mohamed Abdel Rahim Eltayeb; daughter-in-law, Tanya Eltayeb; great grandchildren Little Tanya, Hakeem J., Adelrahim, Mohamed, Zaire, Hibera, Mohamed Abdelrahim and great, great grandson, Hakeem the Third. She will also be missed dearly by her God-daughther, Jo-Ann Johnson of Moses Lake, Members of Galilee Baptist Church, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends around the world.
