Obituary – Vorian Bertrand Lewis

Vorian Bertrand Lewis went on to glory on January 17, 2021. Lewis was born to the union of Eulysses Bertrand and Devoter Marie Lewis in Seattle, Washington on December 25, 1963.

He attended elementary school at John Muir, Graham Hill, and St. Mary’s Catholic school; middle school at Sharples and Asa Mercer, and graduated from Ingraham High School. After graduation, Lewis attended Olympic College in Bremerton, WA, where he studied business accounting. Lewis also earned four audio engineering degrees at the Institute of the Music in Cleveland, Ohio.

While in elementary and middle schools, Lewis played little league football playing for the Rainier Eagles. He played for the Rams at Ingraham High School (VBL#34) and later became a coach for the Eagles.  In 2007, Lewis co-founded the Rainier Ravens football foundation.

While working for the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, Lewis promoted several young adult concerts, dance events, and talent shows becoming one of the first promoters to produce a college step “stomp” event in the Northwest.

Lewis was a great humanitarian willing to help anyone who needed his help.  He never saw Black or White, just fellow human beings.  If he could do it, it was done for you.  If asked how he was doing he would reply with his favorite saying “chilly willy”.

Lewis is survived by his loving wife, April (Hampton)Lewis; children, Bertrand, Vorian Jr., Niema, Voriona and stepson Marcus Stevenson; grandchildren Kennedy Jones and Amir Lewis-Reed; parents Eulysses and Devoter Lewis; siblings Elythia (Ernest) Thompson of Atlanta, GA, Aquala, Marsalles (Regina), Shannae, Darius and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing will be held on Fri., Feb. 12 from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle, WA. Due to Covid-19, a private family only memorial service will be held Sat., Feb. 13 at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle, WA.
