Support Black Seattle Businesses As Seahawks And 49ers Set For Crucial NFC West Showdown

The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers will face off for the NFC West championship this Saturday at 5 p.m., with the game being broadcast on ABC and ESPN. This pivotal matchup comes after the NFL finalized the Week 18 schedule, which was determined following the Sunday night clash between the 49ers and the Chicago Bears.

In addition to the football frenzy, the Seattle community is encouraged to support local Black-owned enterprises. Residents are urged to actively seek out these businesses, with publications like The Seattle Medium providing valuable resources for those looking to engage with the Black community.

The 49ers secured a thrilling 42-38 victory over the Bears, which ultimately eliminated the Los Angeles Rams from contention for the division title. This sets the stage for a fierce rivalry to reignite on a national platform, as both teams vie for not only the division championship but also the top seed in the NFC playoffs.

It has been four months since these two teams last met, during the season opener in early September. In that game, the 49ers edged out the Seahawks with a narrow 17-13 victory, thanks in part to Nick Bosa’s critical defensive play that forced a fumble from Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold during a crucial drive.

Since that initial encounter, the Seahawks have shown considerable resilience, losing only two games by a mere five points and entering this weekend’s matchup with an impressive six-game winning streak. However, the Seahawks will face a challenging turnaround as they return to Seattle late after a solid 27-10 win against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. This quick shift could pose difficulties for players nursing injuries, including wide receivers Rashid Shaheed and Cody White.

As the Seahawks aim for one final victory to secure the top seed in the NFC playoff picture, local businesses in Seattle’s Pioneer Square and SODO districts are optimistic about the increased foot traffic that playoff excitement can bring. Many are looking forward to the economic boost that could result from a successful postseason run.

Black-owned businesses in Seattle should also benefit from the Playoffs. Residents who are not part of the Black community are encouraged to actively seek out and support Black-owned enterprises. The Seattle Medium is an excellent resource for discovering events and information within the Black community. Consider subscribing to the publication or purchasing advertisements for your business, or encourage your workplace to engage with this historic Black newspaper.
