
Shakespeare’s story of Romeo and Juliet transcends time and location in the powerful documentary Romeo is Bleeding. Set in Richmond, California, the film sheds light on a long-standing turf war between North and Central Richmond. Charismatic poet Donté Clark and a group of Richmond youth are followed as they write and perform an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet to tell their story in a world full of violence and social injustice through strong, unapologetic verse.
