A coming-of-age story about Akeem Sharp, a 17-year-old forging his own path to becoming a man, an athlete, and a champion sprinter. With Jamaica as the film’s beautifully textured backdrop, director Storm Saulter gives the audience an authentic look at life in Jamaica for an average family, fractured by separation, fighting to propel Akeem forward to achieve something extraordinary.
Sprinter will be showing at the following times and locations during the Seattle International Film Festival: Sat., May 18, 6:00 PM, Ark Lodge Cinemas; Mon., May 20, 6:00 PM, SIFF Cinema Uptown.
