The Crusaders’ defense came up with a last-second steal as the Hawks tried to get a final shot off as time expired. Eastside Catholic will play the winner between Auburn and Arlington, while Mountlake Terrace will face North Thurston.

Facing each other for the first time since last year’s Hardwood Invite, O’Dea was able to avenge the loss they suffered last season as they secured a two-point win on the road against Auburn. The Fighting Irish will await the winner between Mountlake Terrace and North Thurston, meanwhile Auburn will play Arlington to keep their hopes of a state title repeat alive.

The Bulldogs, led by Metro League Most Valuable Player Jaylin Stewart, and All-Metro Team Selections Legend Smiley and Emmett Marquardt, will face either a Rainier Beach team, a team they’ve won the season series against, or a Shorecrest team that is currently riding a three-game win streak.

#4 Auburn/#12 Arlington
Eastside Catholic is undefeated thus far in the postseason. The Crusaders, led by Jacob Cofie, will have an opportunity to continue their streak against either the reigning 3A State Champions Auburn or an 18-5 Arlington team.

#6 Mountlake Terrace/#14 North Thurston
The O’Dea Fighting Irish handed the reigning 3A State Champion Auburn an opening-round loss to secure a first-round bye. Led by Co-Defensive Player of The Year Mason Williams, O’Dea will face either a North Thurston team who upset West Seattle or a Mountlake Terrace team that took Eastside Catholic to the distance before losing in the final seconds.

Despite losing on the road by three to Mt. Spokane, Rainier Beach will have one more opportunity to keep their season alive. Led by First-Team All-Metro guard Miles Gurske and Co-Defensive Player of The Year Ryan Mpouli, the Vikings will face Shorecrest, who come into the game riding a two-game win streak.
